We're Potty Training!

Cynthia (Nanny):
We've entered the wonderful world of potty training. Potty songs, a candy jar, Disney princess pull ups. We're trying it all! Big Sister is beginning to get the hang of it, while Little Sister is not quite ready yet.
What are your potty training secrets to success?

  1. We received some great tips from our good friend and reader, Jennifer. Here are some things she tried with her daughter:

I started with panties, the thinner the better. They need to realize they are peeing. Stock up on lots and lots of panties, they will have accidents.

I did the salty carbs trick one day which required more liquids. Then I took her potty every 15-20 minutes with lots of praises, sticker chart, and m&m treats. They don't feel more wet in pull ups but they do in panties, just use pull ups for naptime.
I tried when she first turned 2, I consistently took her but she still had accidents. Not until she 3 was she ready.

They also have to show interest. Let them pick out panties, potty, everything.

Thanks Jennifer! We are trying panties today and have only had 1 accident. ;)
