Rhombus Art

Arielle (mommy):
Today we integrated art and math.  Lil is very familiar with basic shapes and has recently become interested in the rhombus.

We did this fun activity fitting the paper shapes together to construct a bird.  I cut out the black bird silhouette for Lil, cut out the shapes on white paper, then provided Lil with chalk, crayons, pens, markers, glitter, and glue to decorate the shapes.  After she decorated them, I helped her to fit them together to make the bird "feathers".

I have 5 girls aged 8-11 come over for arts and crafts on Mondays and they did this activity as well.  It was a big hit.  A great project to frame and hang in their rooms.
