Letter L

Cynthia (Nanny):In addition to our letter Ll page, we glued colored popsicle sticks to construction paper to form capital and lowercase Ls. To work on our fine motor skills we tried a new way of gluing using popsicle sticks. I put two globs of glue on a paper plate and modeled how to paint glue on their popsicle sticks. They thought it was fun to "paint with glue."

Arielle (mommy):
Introduction:  Lil's favorite letter!  After discussing other words (besides her name) that begin with L, I had Lil make the letter L with her body, she showed me she could do it two different ways.  Then we had O make a lowercase L and had him help Lil make an L (she was the long and he was the short part).  I wasn't able to get O to hold still for long enough to get pictures of those.

Writing practice:  Since Lil writes the letter L more than any other letter she is really good at it.  For a challenge I had her cut the letter out of her pancake during breakfast.

Craft:  L shaped lion.  We added a lion to our collection of letters disguised as animals.
